For several years, Fraunhofer IWU has been working on the design and development of production technologies that enable the cost-efficient manufacture of fuel cells and electrolyzers. This primarily concerns the stack with its components. This essential component of the hydrogen system technology offers a very large potential for further development to increase performance and lifetime and to reduce costs.
Related to the development of the HyGrid and the fields of action HyWindow and HyFrame, there is experience from previous initiatives in the research fields:

Texulting GmbH sees itself as a competent developer of textile systems and technologies. Within the scope of numerous projects, the company has been able to establish itself as a competent service provider for partners at home and abroad. The industries range from companies in the fashion industry, the construction industry to developments in the field of veterinary medicine. In these successful projects, complete systems for industry-related application areas have already been developed. The company has already gained experience in the field of fuel cells / hydrogen in other projects.
For example, Texulting GmbH was commissioned by the municipality of Hettstedt to submit an application for the HyLand / HyExpert program in spring 2021. The company has also participated in the 7-month concept phases of each of the RUBIN alliances EBaaS and DuSwaP, in which a concept of an actively braceable fuel cell or dual stacking was developed. Through these two projects, the company was not only able to gain valuable technical experience, but also to establish a good network with suppliers and users of hydrogen / fuel cells.
For the planned work, the company can count on experienced employees, all of whom have academic experience in the relevant development fields, textile technology, lightweight construction and vehicle technology, as well as project management, and are familiar with project work, as well as with the execution and planning of tests.
